Cherry Blossoms

Head up North to Nago and there is a couple different places to see Cherry Blossoms.

We go to Mt. Yaedake. It is on the same road as Pineapple Factory, but 15 or so min. further. Its a beautiful drive up the Mountain looking at Cherry Blossoms. 1/2 way up the Mountain is the festival.
There is also another festival at the Nakijin Castle Ruins in Nago which is shortly after the end of the expressway on your right. Hurry and go see it this weekend. The festivals ends on Feb. 7th.

Party's are fun, but Surprise party's are the best. Especially when the guest really has no clue that there is anything different about that day!

She just turned 4!! It was raining outside so we shot some pictures inside. When asked how she wanted to pose this is what she came up with. I must say it is a beautiful picture showing off a 4 year olds creativity!!!

Fireworks

Did ya'll go see the fireworks up at Expo Park? If you didn't get a chance to see it be sure you put it on your to do list for next year! They had all sorts of fireworks, including a smiley face one! If you don't like crowds then park it next to the Butterfly Garden and you can see them from there and avoid the crowds (yes, I do not like crowded places!). We left after 30 min. (we parked at the corner by the Lawsons and walked to our spot so we had a walk back to do!) and they were doing fireworks still. So for those who didn't get to see the fireworks I leave you with just a taste of what you missed. For those that got to see them, well, you can enjoy also!

Tuesday Thoughts

Wow, its another Tuesday. Can you believe it? School ends on Thursday and I don't know who is more excited, me or Owen. I can't wait for it to end because then we don't have to go through the nightly fight of it's bed time and he isn't tired! I'm glad he got the teacher he had and the wonderful things she did with them! Next year though is a whole new ball game. Owen is being home schooled. Yep, I will be teaching him. I have this plan of how great it will work out and how easy it will be. Aug. 14 we start so I'll let you know how it really goes.
The diet and excersice thing is going. Not as good as I want it to, but I am sticking with it. I have only lost 4 pounds, but that is still 4 pounds! I have done 3 weeks of succesfull 1 hour workouts and think I need to up my excersice a bit. However; we are treading on. Whats your diet or excersice secrets to loosing weight? Help a girl out!
Saturday we had a Super Saturday at our church. Its when the ladies get together and they have a couple different projects to work offered and we get to pick what to do. There were wood signs with vinyl lettering, book making, magnet making, card making, mat decorating, jewelery making with sea glass. You get the idea. It was so much fun and I have 2 great wood signs hanging on my wall and beautiful picture frame mat and also a book with Family Home Evening lessons. We did the first lesson last night and the kids loved it so hooray for Mondays going better!

This is Baby L. He is a little over 2 weeks and doesn't like his belly or to be cold. Really limits you on the different poses you can take, but he was a great baby! If he didn't like what you were doing he would just grunt at you. He also decided that he didn't want sleepy baby pictures and instead wanted to be awake for majority of them. He was a ton of fun and way cute!!

Meet Owen

Meet Owen. He is a 7 year old goof ball! He loved climbing into a cave and throwing rocks (and bricks) into the water! However, he does not like having his picture taken! That is why my style works great for him. He plays and I get those candid images for you to enjoy!

Before I get started don't forget to enter the free drawing giveaway! You don't need to do anything but leave a comment! I love going to blogs and learning a little more about people! So, as a result, every Tuesday I will give you a glimpse into my life!! This was inspired by Shelia of Shelia Stone Photography who does Monday Ramblings. My posts will never be as funny as hers, but I love how it has helped me get to know her better (I am proud to say that I know her and knew her before she became a photog! What an awesome person!).

I am loving the choice to take photo's for a living. I have a wonderful assistant who is an extreme goofball and she keeps me laughing!! However, these posts are not going to be about photography. They will be about me!!

So, I decided part of this is going to be an online journal of my workout! Every Tues. I will update you on the pains, joys, and pains of working out. You see I have never been into the whole workout thing in my whole life. However; stepping on the scale and weighing almost as much as I did when I delivered my daughter opened my eyes that I need to make changes! It started with joining the gym co-op. Not a bad deal, you watch kids 3 days a month and in exchange you can exercise the other 17 for free! I live by Courtney and the hours are M-F from 9-11! PERFECT!! I did it for the first time yesterday and only was there for a little over an hour, but I left feeling so much better. 40 min. elliptical and then a lower body workout! I am not feeling sore right now, but it has only been one day, lets see how long it takes for this to become habit and for me to loose all this unnecessary weight I have collected over the years! My goal weight is 185 (Not bad since I am 6'). So I will also put how much weight I have lost each week. This will make me change my eating habits as well (ya, I may have worked out, but Ice Cream for lunch and Wendy's for dinner probably did away with all that goodness!). Any advice to someone who needs to loose at least 40 pounds?

Did ya'll see how beautiful this weekend was? WOW, were we ever blessed with a great weekend. Living on this tropical Island helps me realize the blessing life has given us and I am so grateful to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for everything they have given our family. I was taught growing up that we are all given talents and it is our job to grow and develop these talents or they are just wasted! I didn't realize until a year ago that it is so true! I took photography in High School and loved it. However, after the joys of getting married the camera was set aside and talents collected dust! Moving to Okinawa helped me want to capture the beauty around me and so the camera stopped collecting dust and we even bought a second one so my hubby and I didn't have to share the big camera (Yes, He takes pics to, but just for fun!).

Bubba (my 7 year old) had his last soccer game was Saturday. I couldn't go because Princess (my 3 year old who does answer to that name!) was beyond tired and needed her nap! He played good and came home so sweaty and hot! Thank goodness he had a beach trip that morning! His team had a great season and they were a blast to get to coach (yes, my husband and I coach the sports our children are involved in and LOVE it).

Sight, so here is a family photo to leave ya'll with! It is 9 months old, but I love this location and am waiting for a client to want to do shoot in town instead of the beach! Thanks Shelia for taking some awesome photos!

Meet Tabatha

This is Tabatha! She is a 3 year old spunky princess. She loves the beach, but hates the water. We played patty cake and threw rocks in the water. It was a really fun play date at one of the most prettiest beaches I have ever been to!

Meet the Jensen Family. This family asked if I would take there pictures before they PCS'ed. We set a date and time and that whole week there was nothing but rain. I was getting discuraged, but Saturday we woke up to a beautiful morning. We drove to the beach and it started to rain shortly after we started. We tried to tough it out, but the rain was winning. We the sought cover and waited. While we were waiting we made alternate plans and then the rain let up. Alternat plans cancelled, beach location changed, and we had a fun fun fun time. They leave this Island in 2 weeks and they will be trully missed. This family is such a fine example of how things should be! The boys are best friends and they care so much for each other. J is the youngest and really looks up to his big brothers. He also makes sure that they get the same chances that he gets. L is the middle brother and he looks after his brothers. Then there is A. He is the oldest and is 8.
